Panini di Calabria · De Pijp, Amsterdam

The flavours of Calabria, now in the heart of Amsterdam.

For those who don't know it yet

What is a Sila panino?

Not an American burger. A Calabrian panino like you'd eat it in the south of Italy: warm, full of flavour and with character. Three things make it complete.

Baked Italian bread

A soft, semolina-dusted Calabrian roll that is baked and toasted on the spot. Crisp on the outside, airy on the inside, never sweet.

Pork-sausage smash

A patty of Italian sausage, smashed flat for a crispy edge and full flavour. Fennel seed in the mix, exactly like back home in Calabria.

The Calabrian fire

'Nduja: the spicy, spreadable sausage from Calabria. Plus melted Caciocavallo and home made sauces. This is what makes Sila Sila.

The showstopper

'Nduja in every form.

The spicy bomb from Calabria. Melted Caciocavallo, spread 'nduja, battered 'nduja and potato, 'nduja mayo. You eat it here with your hands and a smile.

Family & roots

From Calabria to De Pijp.

Behind the counter stand two sisters and a brother from Calabria: Raffaele, Carolina & Alba. They brought the flavours of their home region to Amsterdam and opened Sila in 2025, on Van Woustraat.

Sila is the name of the mountain plateau in Calabria they come from. A small shop with a big heart: everything is made fresh, the sausage, the bread, the 'nduja. One taste and you won't want it any other way.

Pure southern Italy, right in the middle of De Pijp.
